Father’s Day has always made chef think of the smell of smoke and charcoal in the backyard, her father at the grill, and everyone gathering around the picnic table for an afternoon that stretched into evening. Summer cookouts and barbecues were never just about the food – they were an excuse to slow down, spend time with family, and share a meal.
It was a ritual of hospitality, storytelling, and togetherness. This menu is inspired by those memories, paying tribute through the lens of Ama, combining the familiar comforts with the spices, ingredients, and culinary traditions that have traveled across generations and cultures.
From smoked and slow cooked meats to comforting sides meant for sharing, each dish celebrates the traditions of gathering, hospitality, and breaking bread together that fathers, families, and communities have passed down through generations.
